4º ESO

 

 UNIT 1

  1. Check the vocabulary seen in lesson 1- Unit1

     
  2. Put the sentences in the correct order to get a paragraph describing a man

     
  3. Describe the people in one of these photographs and send it to my Email address. Remember that you have to describe the person physically and his/her personality:  1   -   2  
  4. Look for information about Frida Kahlo and write a description Then send it to me.

    Answer the following questions about Frida and send the answers to me:
    1-What happened to her in 1925?
    2-Who was Diego Rivera?
    3-How many times did they get married?
    4-Look at her paintings. Do you like them? Why? Why not?

     
  5. Read the narration of the coming of a  hurricane and correct the sentences (you must use the present progressive because you're telling what's happening right now)
     
  6. Look at the  photograph and complete the sentences to describe what's happening at the moment.
     
  7. Choose either the present simple or present progressive.
     
  8. Complete this story about a holiday (vacation) in the sun choosing the right tense.
     
  9.   Practice the simple present and the present continuous in this site.(do the "Intermediate" exercises; if you find them too easy try the "Upper-intermediate")

 UNIT 3

  1 - Revise the vocabulary seen in the first lesson of the unit.

  2 - Fill in the blanks in these sentences with words and expressions from the first exercise.

  3 - Write sentences using the "so" and "such" structure.

  4 - Complete the sentences and send the questionnaire to your teacher.

  5 - Read the text and answer the questions, then send them to your teacher.

  6- Revise irregular verbs with these two games. Be as fast as you can!.

  7- Revise more irregular verbs with these two crosswords.

  8- Simple past exercises:

 Welcome back after the Christmas holidays! I hope you had a wonderful and unforgettable holiday and are back with lots of energy and eager to learn new things.

 1- These are the activities for the first week of January 2006: Visit the homepage of  English Zone  and do the exercises of Unit 4. In the next English lesson you'll have to show how much you worked today.

 2- Game to practise comparatives and superlatives.

 2- Write your own school menu. Visit these sites and get some ideas.  Remember that you have to make it as healthy as possible!. When you have finished, send it to your teacher.

 Open up your mail and see what what you've received!

 Do exercise 12 in Unit 6  and then exercises 3 and 4 in Unit 7

 Then do the following reading and listening exercises. (IF THE COMPUTER AND THE INTERNET CONNECTION LET YOU DO SO!)
First do the "Fords" one. Watch the video and pay attention to the differences between what you hear and what you read, and then click on the words which are different.
Next do the reading and listening exercises about Marilyn Monroe. First do the listening and writing exercise (Listen and write down the words you hear; you can write down several words at the same time; you can get help and even read the text before starting the listening exercise).
When you have finished this exercise you can revise by doing the second one about Marilyn; in this case you have to order the paragraphs to tell the story.
